| Around June of 2000, NetBeans was open sourced,
Sun Microsystems has contributed the source code from Forte for Java Community Edition to this project
and is paying the salaries of many of the people involved in the project.
In this respect, NetBeans is to Sun what Mozilla is to Netscape/AOL.
On NetBeans Home Page you can find various resources and support links,
as well as source code and development branches.
NOTE: it runs OK also under GNOME ... I just couldn't select more environments ;) |
