IBM purchased Informix, and INFORMIX-SE is available as a 30 day trial. Supporting Caldera and S.u.S.E. commercial versions of Linux on the Intel platform, INFORMIX-SE is the first commercial database to provide Linux developers with the full power of an SQL-based database engine, combined with the quality, configurability, and interoperability of the Linux operating system. Informix and Red Hat Software are also committed to working together to ensure that a future release of INFORMIX-SE and INFORMIX-ESQL for C support Red Hat Linux and the multi-threaded Glibc libraries. With its ease of installation and high reliability, INFORMIX-SE on Linux packs big performance and multi-user client/server capabilities in a small package that's perfect for small corporations or self-contained departments. In addition, INFORMIX-SE requires the most minimal MIS administration or database expertise to fully exploit this powerful information management system.
